About Group Stays
Everyone under one roof, checked bed by bed
Group Stays is run by the same team behind Glamping in Africa and Luxury African Safaris. This site is our answer to one question we kept hearing: where can all of us stay together?
Why we started Group Stays
Finding a place in South Africa that genuinely sleeps eight or more is harder than it should be. A listing says it sleeps ten, and then you find two of those beds are a sleeper couch in the lounge, there’s one bathroom for everyone, or the price you saw was per person, not for the house.
So we started keeping our own list for big families, friends’ weekends and reunions, and checking the details that matter to a group before we add a place.
How we choose stays
8+
It really sleeps eight or more
One house, or a lodge you can book for exclusive use. We don’t add up separate units to reach the number.
1:1
We check the details
Sleeping numbers, bedrooms, bathrooms and published prices are checked against each property’s own listing. If something doesn’t add up, we leave it out or say so.
R
Group-friendly, honestly
We note pools, braais, catering and malaria status, and we only call a place malaria-free when we have a source for it.
How we earn
Group Stays is free to use. Some links on our listings are affiliate links: if you book through one, the booking site may pay us a small commission, at no extra cost to you. It never decides which places we list or what we say about them, and no property pays to be listed. Read our advertiser disclosure.
